The Oat Bran Boys, one of the best-known bluegrass bands in West Michigan and a favorite in this area for many years, will be coming to Howmet Playhouse in Whitehall on Friday, January 13 at 7:30 p.m.
The Oat Bran Boys, brothers John and Rich King, and Daniel Seabolt, have been performing together since 1988. John (vocals, guitar, and mandolin), Rich (vocals, mandolin, and string bass), and Dan (fiddle, vocals) explored other forms of music from classical to blues to soul before they fell under the influence of bluegrass, and they have been playing it ever since. The Oat Bran Boys are well known in the West Michigan area and travel to do various festivals and events throughout the year.
Tickets are available for $10 in advance at the City of Whitehall Box Office, 405 E. Colby (231-894-4048), The Red Rooster, 2998 Scenic Dr (231-744-4006), or at the Arts Council of White Lake office, 8695 Ferry St., Montague (231-893-2524). Tickets may also be purchased at the door.
This is presented as a benefit for the White Lake Junior Strings, a program of Music and Performing Arts, branch of Arts Council of White Lake. For more information, please call Sondra Cross at 231-329-3056.
